As part of Aotearoa Art Fair 2026, Foenander Galleries presented a special collaboration with Karen Walker, extending the fair’s presence into the brand’s iconic Britomart flagship store.
Featuring works by Jess Swney and Monica Rani Rudhar, the installation unfolded within the store’s richly layered environment. Swney’s textile-based practice and Rudhar’s materially driven works sat in considered dialogue with the space - each engaging with ideas of surface, process, and form in ways that resonated with the language of fashion.
As part of the collaboration, both artists also joined Karen Walker for a panel discussion, reflecting on their respective practices and shared points of connection between contemporary art and design.
Together, the works created a subtle interplay between disciplines, where tactility, pattern, and narrative converged. Presented beyond the traditional fair setting, the installation offered a more intimate and immersive encounter with the artists’ practices.
