Phil Neary is an Auckland based sculptural artist. His work immediately recalls historical sculpture, appearing as delicate artifacts; small, bronze, and intricate in nature. Neary’s sculpture also relates to his own historical work, in its creation and feeding of dialogue, holding the viewer’s attention, and launching ideas.
Auckland-based Neary has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout his art career. He has exhibited in many solo and group shows since completing his BFA and MFA (Hons) in Sculpture, from the University of Auckland’s Elam School of Fine Art. His work has been showcased in numerous outdoor sculpture exhibitions and he has held solo shows, as well as, having been part of many group shows in New Zealand.
